Measurements

Accurate measurements are essential for your casting profile — they help production teams find the right fit for costumes and continuity. Take each measurement carefully using a flexible tape measure, and double-check your numbers before uploading them to your profile.

Why We Need Measurements

Accurate measurements on a supporting artist profile are essential because they ensure you can be correctly matched to roles, costumes, and continuity requirements. Productions often cast supporting artists to fit specific height, clothing, and physical criteria so they blend naturally into a scene or match predetermined wardrobe sizes. Inaccurate details can lead to delays, recasting, or being turned away on the day, which impacts both you and the production team. Providing precise and up-to-date measurements helps casting teams place you efficiently, maintain professionalism, and increase your chances of being booked consistently.

How to Use a Tape Measure

Person using a tape measure

To use a tape measure for costumes, wrap it around specific body parts like the chest, natural waist, and hips, keeping it snug but not tight. For other measurements, such as inseam, shoulder-to-waist, or sleeve length, measure in a straight line from the starting point to the end point as instructed.
